Canon should provide this information on their website. They don't because they want your throw away printer to be thrown away and you have to buy a new one.

Thank y'all! This also worked for my MP250. I refill my PG 210 and PG 211 carts manually. Printer wasnt recognizing a recent refill so I performed this simple task and got things printing w/n moments.

The video is to reset the E08 waste absorber error. You can't reset the ink level on some compatible ink cartridges, you just have to keep printing until your prints start fading.

I tried this for E14 code and it worked: For Canon Pixma MP270, here’s how to reset printer ink level, so that the cartridge is not detected as empty cartridges anymore: Press the reset button for about 5 seconds. Open the cover of the printer, unplug the cartridges and plug in again into the cartridge’s house.

Canon MP270: Error E03 (paperjam). Or the printer is generally not responding. The printer wouldn't recognize the paper in the rear tray. It also would not allow me to change cartridges, because the ink-cartridges didn't roll out to the center position they should, when you open the lid. Problem turned out to be a flower leaf stuck in what must be a sensor behind where the cartridges normally sit when the lid is open Im guessing the leaf blocked the sensor resulting in confusing messages

This didnt work for me. Instead I put it into Service Mode by holding the reset button whilst turning on the printer and pressing the reset button twice whilst still holding the on/off button. Then I used a utility program 'Service Tool v.3400' to reset the ink absorber counter.
